Shirley Huey
https://www.shirleyhuey.com/Born and raised in San Francisco and now residing in the East Bay, Shirley Huey writes poetry and prose. Her writing is forthcoming and/or has been published in such publications as Catapult, Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel, sparkle + blink, Endangered Species, Enduring Values: An Anthology of San Francisco Area Writers and Artists of Color. She is a proud alum of VONA, Kearny Street Workshop's Interdisciplinary Writers Lab, the Writers Grotto's Rooted & Written, Roots.Wounds.Words, and Food Media Lab's storytelling workshop and is grateful for generous support from Mesa Refuge, Liminal, Left Margin Lit, and Quillisascut Farm. Shirley has read her work throughout the Bay Area, including at APAture, Quiet Lightning, Eves @ the Beat, Bay Area Generations, the Asian Art Museum, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, and Red Bay Coffee. Her obsessions include learning about food and cultural traditions--how they evolve and what that means for us, exploring neighborhoods and nature. She is currently working on a memoir in essays.
