Rob Waters
Rob Waters is an award-winning health, science and travel writer who contributes to Health Affairs, Kaiser Health News, STAT, Craftsmanship Quarterly and other publications. Rob has been a reporter for Bloomberg News, Time Inc. Health and Psychotherapy Networker, and an editor at WebMD and the Tenderloin Times, a four-language San Francisco community newspaper. His articles have appeared in BusinessWeek, San Francisco magazine, Salon.com, the Washington Post and the LA Times. His articles for Health Affairs in 2020 were honored by the Society of Professional Journalists, Northern California chapter; the Association of Health Care Journalists; and the National Institute for Health Care Management. His 2005 Mother Jones investigation, "Medicating Amanda," won the Casey Award for magazine writing. He co-authored From Boys to Men, published in 2004 by Simon & Schuster, lives in Berkeley, and has an office in downtown Oakland.
