She has written about pastrami and Point Reyes, speed-dating mothers and ex-con ultra-marathoners, and more, for The New Yorker, The New York Times, T, Outside, The Wall Street Journal, Lucky Peach, Pop-Up Magazine, San Francisco magazine, and Sunset, where she was a senior travel editor. Her first book, LOOK BIG: And Other Tips for Surviving Animal Encounters of All Kinds — a field guide for fending off our most feared, and frustrating, animals — was published in April 2018 by Ten Speed. She is at work on a second book titled EAT SOMETHING, with Wise Sons Deli, to be published by Chronicle Books in 2020.
