Nate O-G is a fiction writer focused on stories that explore themes of race, class, masculinity, sexuality, climate change, and chicano futurism. Nate is currently a Writing MFA student at University of San Francisco (class of 2027). In 2026 he was a member of the Abode Press Summer Virtual Retreat's novel cohort and an attendee of the Storyboard Residency at St. Mary's College of California. In 2025 he was a member of the One Story Magazine Writing Circle and in 2024 he was a 3rd Space by Roots Wounds Words Fiction Fellow. Over the last two decades, Nate has worked in journalism and technology at the Arizona Daily Star, Los Angeles Times, Wired, The Verge, The Wall Street Journal, TWiT and Apple Inc. He was a James Reston Fellow at The New York Times in 2008. He serves on the board of directors at The Writers Grotto and Mission Local and as a member of the Journalism Advisory Council at the University of Arizona's School of Journalism. From 2012 to 2017, he served on the board of directors for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
