Mary Ladd is a founding editor of Long Hauler Publishing™. She started writing professionally at the San Francisco Chronicle and later collaborated with Anthony Bourdain. Mary authored The Wig Diaries: An Irreverent Cancer Book, with "Bad Reporter" illustrator Don Asmussen and her writing is in the best-selling 642 Things to Write About and Lit Starts books, Playboy, Time Magazine, KQED, and several anthologies. She teaches and volunteers with The Writers Grotto, Bay Area Young Survivors, and ZYZZYVA. Mary is We Wai Kai and loves eating pizza with her husband, Oscar Villalon, and son, Cipriano. Mary has had Long COVID since early 2022.
