Linda Norton

1. A very helpful and challenging class.
2. Professor Norton is a very involved teacher and was very encouraging for us to try things our own way. She was timely in her feedback and a wonderful teacher overall.
3. She was a great teacher and I learned how to better my writing through the writing assignments.
4. Linda Norton is by far one of the best instructors I have had during my three years at SFSU. She is determined to challenge her students, thus furthering their ability to become better writers.
5. Professor Norton's teaching style captivated my imagination as a writer and tested my knowledge as a student.
6. The effectiveness of this teacher is as high as I can give her. She inspired the class to think in ways we can assume professional creative writers would.

8. With Professor Norton every week we tried something new and we shared everything as a class or worked together as a class as well with just her starting off. Her examples were both personal and inspiring.
9. Linda Norton is amazing and motivates her students to think critically about the books/poems we read. She never made me feel uncomfortable when sharing pieces that I wrote. I found myself learning so much about reading and writing, more than I have in my previous creative writing classes. She's also very passionate about her writing and gives constructive feedback, which is a definite plus!

She does not need a loud voice to command the classroom; in fact her voice is often quiet, but students hang on her words. She is respected, and even though she may not know it, she is very funny. Everyone I have spoken to who has taken a class with Linda Norton has had nothing but admiration for her.
15. Unlike other creative writing teachers I have had, Linda seemed genuinely
interested in all of our writing and always offered constructive input on ways we could improve. She created a community atmosphere in her classroom that also created a willingness for all is us to share our work with one another. She's an amazing professor!
